In this quick study, Contegiacomo explores how information architecture impacts our built environment. The proposed site is Cooper Square at the intersection of Lafayette Street and Astor Place in New York City. The result is two glass bar-shaped buildings that border the north and south lot lines of the site. The buildings have the shape and character of an open book standing on its end, creating a large open plaza in the center; they act as bookends, which define and reinforce Cooper Square as a place.
